The rules are to be followed with a grain of salt. Assume all the rules to be in effect, but some rules may be bent to accomodate certain situations. We're not going to go Nazi on you, but repeat offenses will result in disciplinary actions leading up to account termination.
1. This isn't really a "rule" but more of a suggestion. Please, PLEASE, in the very least, try to use punctuation. There is a bad habit among some people on the internet to completely ignore any and all punctuation and sentence structure. A lack of punctuation makes posts VERY hard to read, and a repetitive style of posting often results in irritating the forumites. Don't make us guess our way through your sentences - at least use periods, commas, and question marks. Capitalization and spelling aren't a concern as long as we can at least read your sentences.
2. Do not bother asking the admins to make you a mod or place you in a special category. If you're actions on the boards warrant such placement, it will happen.
3. Cursing is allowed, but do not go overboard. A post featuring a gratuitous amount of cursing will be edited and the member will be warned.
4. No open flame wars. If you have a problem with another member, please take it to PMs or off-board. This counts for all negative comments regarding members as well. No bashing people's creations either. If you don't have anything nice to say, nothing needs to be said.
5. Constructive criticism. No "you're wrong" posts. If you want to help a member out, please do so in a constructive manner. Do not tear them apart. Likewise, members receiving constructive criticism should be aware that the "constructive criticism" is offered as critique (i.e. help, suggestions), not as negative comments.
6. Please be open-minded to the ideas presented by other members. Close-mindedness often leads to flamewars.
7. Do NOT mention costume makers by name; instead, use an associated acronym. Example: "Costumes For You" -> CFU. This is to help protect these people.
8. NO HYPERSPACE (or other pay service) MATERIALS ON THE FORUMS! Any Hyperspace materials found will be deleted immediately. Such material is priviledged and someone paid for it, do not rob them of it.
More rules to be posted as they become necessary.
