Cool like I said I'm color blind so when I look at these GM images ( the few that we have ) I can't tell what color he's wearing. It's tuff for me I always have to ask someone ( who isn't color blind What color is this? ) so I will let you guy's decide the best color I do agree it does look to be grey as I can usually pick up the color black. But for me that's just a guess.

Another piece of evidence for my grey theory is that undershirt on the Hasbro action figure is also grey matching the pants. By itself not very convincing evidence, but combined with the picture I showed earlier, I see more in favor of grey than in favor of black.

Does it really matter? You can't really tell, when you have all of the other stuff on.

I am all for doing your best to get it right, but I agree, black or grey it does not matter. I am going all grey, you can do what ever you want.
I say this all the time, none of us can have the perfect costume in this case because it was never something that existed and therefore does not have to follow the rules of reality. This can be seen in areas like the kama and face cowl. Sometimes in the movie they flow like silk and other times they hang stiff like vinyl.

That looks good to me. I saved some money and went with the Starter brand from Wal-Mart. Looks just like under armor with a different logo. I got it a few sizes too small so that it would not bunch at the elbows.

Ok, Sebastian, I have noticed that you are new to costuming and haven't done one yet, I have completed 2 canon ones. This will probably not be the only costume you'll ever do (because costuming is extremely addicting!), and let me tell you from experience that this little debate about grey vs. black is nothing compared to the debates I have seen & been apart of. This will happen because alot of people that do professional Star Wars costuming spend alot of time & money on their costumes (let alone the research that goes into them too!) and they tend to get very passionate about this hobby of ours. I am an active member of the Rebel Legion. I have completed a canon prequel Jedi & an Episode VI (canon) Endor Commando. I have been apart of & seen debates on whether or not Endor Commandos gaiters' are either beige or green, what is the "real" color of a Rebel Fleet trooper's helmet, light grey or white, should black be allowed in a Jedi costumer's costume, so on and so forth and to tell you the truth not one of these debates ever came to anything, people just ended up sticking to what they thought is right. Now, all I do is give my opinion, but I'm convinced that it won't make that much of a difference on trying to change the minds of others. ;D

I like the idea of grey, I've asked some guys in my garrison what they thought and they agree it should be grey. I'm not trying to cause a debate here I just want my costume to be approved when I'm finished that's all. Everyone's opinion's are welcomed.
Hey I'm a 6"0 tall Jawa for crying out loud!!! I get your kinda tall for a "Jawa" ALL THE TIME or look at the tall Ewok!!! I guess none of them ever watched A New Hope very closely. LOL

Ahh another debate......
If Lucas would give us a "clear" shot of the GM shirt that would be GREAT! Too bad you really can't tell. I'd "assume" it is grey to match the coveralls but you know what happens when you "ass-u-me"............
Yep the Walmart underarmor is fine. It is more spandex then underarmor but tight fitting so it'll do the trick:-)
As far as me using black it is quite simple.......I can't find an underarmor type fabric that matches my covers:-( I should have bought the shirt first and then matched the coverall material to it..........I'll probably do that down the road but I'm banging this out for the Franklin this weekend. Don't forget to check out my build thread......

Yeah I'll be at the Franklin as well on Sunday, from what I hear there going to keep the doors open throughout the whole weekend kinda like a marathon of Star Wars so get ready for a long day of trooping. I'll see you there.
