is there a picture of just the undersuit for refernce to see the black ends and the starts in the chest area? As stated much earlier it seems to be more of a dark gray than a black on the arms. There is no reference specifically for the undersuit that I know of. Looking at the Sith Snapshot 1 it looks almost the same color as the pants, but it hard to see. Most of the arm undersuit is covered or in shadow. Myself, I am going for a overall undersuit that is the same color. Gray pants, shirt, and gloves. We will see how it looks when finished. I just feel it should match. If the arms are truely a dark gray and it seems black is an ok substitute, I say why not light grey to match the pants. The movie is too dark to really get a feel for the exact color of something that shows so little.

I agree that the movie is too dark. It's hard to really tell anything, especially when the color pallete is fake. It is a group of colors on a computer.
I would love to do or even just see a matching undersuit for the marine, but that means that you will have to buy/sew both pieces and that they must match. I don't know. I do like the grey pants with black shirt though. It looks cool.

I think they should match, in theory.
In reality, getting garments, even from the same manufacturer, to match is a near impossibility.
In a costuming situation, where you are trying to balance accurate appearance with functionality\ comfort, it looks more and more unlikely. If you have a friend who is handy with a needle, plus a good supply of a fabric that will work for both items...go for it.
And don't forget to post pics so I can steal your ideas.

Well I might have to get new pants before I can take a picture. It sems I have increased 1 pant size since I began this project.

Yeah I hate that. That happend to me with my snow costume. Got tight for while, almost considered a new white jumpsuit. Sometimes a good compromise (availability and functionality) is better than definative accuracy, just depends what your aiming for. I have a ribbed clone undersuit that I could never troop in, though I will use it on my mannequin display.

I agree. I wish I could say that from experience, but for me, it's about making kids smile and laugh and stuff (and wearing it because I am 21 year old nerd who is a SW junkie!) and if it looks good enough to them and I like it, that's what I am going with. I mean, if I had the dough to spend on EXTREME accuracy, I would, but I don't.

Heh. I think it might be safe to say I'm a nerd too.
My wife usually just shakes her head. Well, she knew who I was when she married me.

We could all fit in that category, other-wise we wouldn't be here!
