Good news everyone, I just pulled the first GM chest from my new mold. Let me know what you think. Dan

nice job, very smooth and clean! I think it is too snowtrooper-like, the front plate should be smaller and shorter, and i think the bottom right and left sides shouldn't be vertical but they should follow the shape of the body, like the standard clonetrooper chest. Just my two cents, in any case i think it is a very nice job! Have you tried fitting it on a back plate?

LAWS has been in contact with several of us over the course of forming this chest plate. He does not have the clone backplates, so he allowed some flexibility to mate it up to whatever backplate you can get. I think it's a great job and much more accurate than trying to mod a TS chestplate. It may need some additional trimming and obviously the greeblies attached.
My TS chestplate was furnished by LAWS and it is a piece of artwork in plastic. I highly recommend his work

Yeah I've been walking Laws through this, and it's not a TS chest. It's quite different all together. Very clean, very nice piece. I look forward to owning one in the coming year!

No, no, i didn't mean it was a modded TS plate! If you say the sides are straight in order to match any back plate, this is great! Nothing a good hotair gun and a trimmer couldn't fit Anyway, i still think the top ridge of the front plate where the greeblies go is too big and it should be a perfect semicircle, while it seems too squared to me.

Dan, Is this the final version or just a test run ? Drop me a PM about getting one, ~Mike Dan told me he made one more tweak based on Snowflake's observation, so the final chest should be slightly different (and more accurate) than the one shown.

That is what he told me too. He said something about the size and some other stuff.

Ack!! Hopefully my pull will reflect the tweak. If not, then I will PM for some direction to get on track with the rest! I can't wait to have one in hand!

I will be done with the second revision GM chest tomorrow. I haven't shipped anything and I won't until the mold is corrected. One more question before I finalize: is it just me or is there a bead running along the edge of the arm cut-out like on the TS chest? It looks like there might be. Does anyone else see it? Details like that tend to add structure to the parts. Dan

i think we'd need a bigger, clearer image of it to determine if there is a ridge around the arm hole. There is a lot of shadow in there, so it's very possible it's just an optical illusion. I'd leave it off until some better references become available.
