This thread will serve as a list for all of the buyable components to the GM. Of course, these "buyable components" will not be armor vendors, but rather off-the-shelf items that are recommended to improve the look of your GM (basically, boots, undersuit, and gloves, and maybe materials). Please post your recommendations, and if you have links to online shops, please post them too. They will be added to this list. BOOTS - The boots listed below have accurate, close-to-accurate, or otherwise recommended soles and/or overall shape. Keep in mind, some of these boots are out-of-production, so ebay is your friend.Kenneth Cole "Pit Crew" - the original Jango boots Sketchers model?? - VERY close sole ================================================ UNDERSUIT / UNDER SHIRTBlack thermal underwear - for undershirt Black Under Armour (or off-brand) - for undershirt Gray BDU pants - for undersuit, will require moderate/major modification ================================================ GLOVESMechanics gloves - preferably all black or dark dark gray, very low detail Nomex flight gloves - they go half way up the forearm ================================================ MATERIALSx

GLOVES- Any sort of mechanic's or tight fitting gloves...Can be found in the hardware/automotive sections of many stores (wal-marts, menards, home depots). The darker the color (preferably black or DARK grey) and the less the details the better.

For gloves, I prefer the black flight gloves sold at Army surplus stores. They are all black and go halfway up the forearm. TK's use them as well. The mechanics gloves look like batting gloves. correct? Here's a link to the gloves I have. I don't endorse this particular seller, it just popped up when I searched google. www.copquest.com/12-1500.htmThe name of them is "Hatch Black Nomex Flight Gloves" Also for a shirt, try to find something black and ribbed. They make black thermal underwear shirts that approximate the design of the clone undergear. For undersuit, I am probably going with the gray BDU pants. They need the abdomen and pocket modification, but I think the overall look and color is pretty good www.soldiercity.com/category-exec/category_id/84/last_category/76

I don't know if you guys have seen this. This guy has made some impressive sandtrooper gear and seems to know good resources. What do you think? www.tk409.com/tk409.html#

For the time being, I was thinking of using a spare gray pair of coveralls and cutting off everything from the mid chest and up, then attaching suspenders on it. Then the upper half could be used for pockets and an abdomin cover. It may not be perfect, but it should work for now.

I cleaned up this thread so it's only links. Don't want any new members to get lost in the thread.
Also, I'm making an official statement for the 53rd's position on Starfortress Productions:
SFP has had a long history of being scam artists. Sometimes they deliver products. Most of the delivered products take months or even years to deliver. You'll be lucky if you even see your product or receive a product update. Use your best judgement and don't send them any money.
Their products have been constantly under fire from the prop building community for being substandard, inaccurate, and overpriceds. Thus it is recommended to just stay away from them.
SFP is run by a man that is potentially-wanted. I don't know the full story on it, but rumors of a wanted man stealing people's money for undelivered products should be more than enough for anyone to quickly turn to another source for certain products. I should hope everyone here stays away from them, because more than likely you will get burned.
To keep this thread free of any discussion, please do not discuss SFP here. I really just want this thread to be links and descriptions and such as a source for resources. Thanks - management.

I was going over the resource list above. Does anyone know the exact name of the Skechers shoe listed? I can't tell what it says on the sole in this picture.

I appreciate you wanting to sell them, but unfortunatley I don't fit in them.

A buddy of mine gave me this link a little while ago. uscav.comI'm thinking Paratrooper or any of the Airpower® boots might work well for GM footwear. Sorry gmsniper73, I couldn't find anything in a foot size that big.

I plan to use the same glove I use for my TK/TC. They are thin ski gloves, Seirus XTreme. The outside is solid black and they have a cuff that comes up the wrist. When bought they have rubberized lettering on the back of the hand that can easily be scraped off, and a small white tag and clip that can both be cut off at the seam with a scissors. They were not cheap, I think 39 at Sports authority, but they look great and match the color and sheen of the underarmor great. The outer surfaces is kinda dive skin esque. And they wick moisture from your hands keeping them cool. I have never had reason to complain with them in hot or cold weather.
