GM's we have had some discussion of forming a GM Detachment in the 501st Legion. I would like to start some discussion on how you all feel about this idea. Thanks.

Hey Dan, its been a while since I've been on the boards but I have worked on my GM some. You've definitely got my vote on a GM specific detachment!
When I last checked, if Im able to finish my GM anytime soon 'll be the only one in Ohio. If we could generate some interest and get some more Marines on board that would be awesome!!

I WOULD LOVE IT!!. What would it imply (tasks, responsibilities, needs, obligations, etc.)?. Would that mean to separate from the Blizzard Force?

I'm working on my GM now. A different attachment could help with generating interest in GMs. I didn't know they were under the blizzard force until I stumbled upon it.

Hello Dan. Perhaps in order to make a fully informed decision about this it would be helpful to tell us about how the current location within Blizzard Force is not serving the needs of GM's and how having a separate Detachment would benefit.

It'd be cool no doubt, but how much traffic would it get with only 42 approved GMs? Is that enough to warrant it's own detachment?
GM threads are already split between here, CTD and Blizzard Force. With a separate detachment site, I'm afraid it just may not be necessary.
They really should have stayed on CTD.

When Meredith troops in her GM, she always gets the same reaction - badass! That being said if the costume were going to move out of Blizzard Force it should move back to the Clone detachment. While it is true that detachments help to promote a costume, with the small amount of screen time for GMs I don't see this costume ever achieving a significant amount of members in the Legion.

We already have our GM designation, BF is cool, but it's not us, in SWW parade we were separated, in the Detachment group card me and the other GM were cutted out to show only TS in the pic, even my GM was the first Trading Card in the BF, maybe in our own house we can do great things, or not, but will be ours.

I agree with those here that state we should re-join the clone trooper detachment. We are clones, it says on the Star Wars collector coin as well as various other visual dictionaries we're listed under clone troopers Picture It's a big bummer we are not allowed to buy clone trooper merch, when we are clones. I think forming a GM only attachment is only going to make it more difficult for new costumers to find resources they need. I feel very attached to clones, but detached from blizzard force. Just my opinion.

Yes--GM discussion had its' most active exchange while at CTD. All clones belong there. Plopping the GM into BF was akin to going to a new school--knowing nobody--and nobody even noticing.

Hi everybody! Well hoping to finish my GM in the next few days I´m wondering about this discussion coming up. I think another relocation to a than new created detachment will not have a positive effect. We lost our Commander - left him behind at CTN - that was a really bad idea, just to get the GM´s located to a detachment ... yes what exactly was the reason for this mess?? I still don´t understand that. Just because the armor looks eventually like the Snowies... somehow??? I would prefer going back to the clones - the detachment works, they are nice guys and I´m happy walking along with my Commander :-) By the way when we have our major event in Legoland Germany GM´s walking with the clones together side by side and even make shootings together - no acceptance splitting off the GM´s into BF and the Snowies are walking behind AT-AT driver in our parade. So yes - I would prefer going back to CTN!

The thing is, since we have been with BF I feel that the GM costume has lost major interest. We were doing fine in CTN, however, I would like to try to regenerate interest in the GM costume by setting up our own detachment. I think it may help us build our ranks again and bring us back the interest that we need. I am not opposed to being part of CTN again, however, I think that as a detachment we have a better chance at building up our ranks and getting us noticed again.

The GM costume is Badass!! And we need to bring the attention back to the badassery the we are. BF is not serving our needs, CTN may or may not either. We should band together like FIST, and build our ranks. The GM is a stand alone costume, it is unique and awesome. I think we should bring the focus around on that. Thoughts???
