Toyhunter is correct. I put in the potential figures - and the price is truly ludicrous; as in several hundred. Not sure how it works elsewhere, but after a certain size restriction (in UK - the box is too small to pack a helmet) - shipping cost is based on volume rather than weight.
Only way to make it cheaper - and I know this sounds crazy ,is to ship it into 2 halves after I have casted it, and you put it together again after it arrives.

Right i took the time today to actually compare the two helmets properly but since i'm hardly a expert i will simply post the pictures i took of the SGB and heatshock helmets next to each other. Please note that the SGB is higher as it is on a helmet stand where as the heatshock is not.

Did some work on my HS GM lid this week. Got the eyes, back vent and neck trimmed up. Surface prepped and painted ( and weathered ) the 'dome'. Added some metal grille and fabric to the rear vent. This is it so far..... Darren What did you use for that metal grill? I looked at aluminum screen door material, but it did not seem to look right. And that stuff comes in giant rolls anyway.

cool man. I know it aint perfect, so I hope you and others are ok with the imperfections. I was quite happy with mine and how it looked cant wait to see this painted up mate! As I am working on my build, the only thing I noticed so far was that the vent hole around the back seems to be too long. Judging from the reference pics I would guess maybe half an inch less on each side would be more accurate. IDK? Top center on this one:

Hmmm u might be right there mate. Although it was one of the things I played around with.
at 1st I divided it into 1/3s fr back to front. But the straight back and oblique shots didnt match up. So I lengthened it a bit.
Appreciate the feedback, keep it coming guys!!
Will take note for version 2 if other marines want it?

Can't remember what specific type of metal mesh I used for the back vent mate.
I know its steel and was a pain to twist to the desired shape tho. LOL

a bit more work on my baby Dear Nate, these days I'm building the third version of my helmet and I'm deciding whether or not to add the trimming all over the edge. The issue is that I don't know what to use for that because I can't find any round section trimming of the appropriate size, so I'd like to ask you if possible, what have you used for that, or if you if you used "square" section trimming and then shaped it to the correct rounded section. Thank you very much, Pablo

Thank you so much for your answer Nate!. No need to send, I'll continue looking locally. Coincidentally today I found some very thin hose that may suit the needs, or the strips I plan to use for the shoulder ribs to, but anyway, which part of model trains are those?. Maybe I can look for them directly instead of adapting circular section trimming.
Thanks a lot again mate!!
