People at the BARC forums have been ignoring me about this point since day one, so I won't allow it to go ignored here. You can find awesome soles all day long, but you need to focus on the ankles. If they're big and thick and padded at the ankle, how are you going to get the boot to fit under your shin armor?

i think it's easier to modify the ankle than to find a good sole, so if you find the right sole and the ankle is too thick, just go for it, but keep in mind you'll have to modify the ankle in order to wear the shoes properly

Nice find. The only problem is they have a tiny little thin sole. They need to have a thick chuncky sole. Thanks for Sharing though.

also they cost a lot of money... i don't think they could be of any use for a Galactic Marine... But they could be perfect for Anakin Skywalker commanding a GM unit

Hey guys guess what I got ahold of! Thanks to Peter at CT.N (Tarnhelmet) I have a brand new set of Kenneth Cole high to shoes with accurate sole for only 35 shipped. Now please understand these are not Kenneth Cole pit crews like what they designed the movie's after but they are Kenneth Cole and they are extremely close.
There is one setback I wear a 9.5 to 10 shoe size and they are an 11.5. That is 2 whole sizes bigger. The make me look like I have freakin cloun feet but it is a price I will have to pay. They are not too horribly bad but they are big.
Well I will post pics tonight. I will hopefully grab some shoe goo on the Saturday so I might get these done tomorrow.

boots are a tough one really and yes pit boots seem to have correct soles or close enough, ive just painted a pair of military desert boots white for now unless I turn into a cobler I dont think it will ever look right

That looks pretty good though. I wouldn't worry about it dude. The only thing with your set-up that I would like to do different with mine, is getting rid of that black strap for the toe armor. I don't know how I could do it differently, but it sticks out too much to me. Of course, when you are wearing it, I'm sure that little spot wouldn't be of much notice.

Allright everyone here they are pics of my Kenneth Cole New York discontinued boots. They are about as accurate as you can get unless you have the money and time to find Kenneth Cole Pit Crews. Here are a few pics of the boots and also as far as I have gotten in making them GM boots. Here is a pic of them with 2 coats of tan paint on the sole close up pic of the painted sole Now pics of th somewhat finished boot Well tell me what you think.

That looks awesome P-man. I have to imagine that painting shoes in any way shape or form would be tough. Good job.

I must say that the 3rd last picture is a very good shot of the boot and shin. This will help me greatly. Thank you very much.
