And when I saw RamZ's GM Armor, the star wars geek inside me "yes yes yes!!!!" Welcome aboard to the 53rd, Kerwin. First and foremost I want to say thanks for the compliment. Mine is still not finished (right now, and I'm at San Diego Comic Con ). I still need to redo my toe armor, and backpack. Anywho, you've come to the right place for the Galactic Marine costume. Lots of great Marines here ready to help out. Feel free to check out other posts for reference. Feel to ask, if you have any questions. -RamZ

Hey everyone. My names Wayne and I am looking to make a GM costume so I can join the 501st in Tampa Bay, Florida. I really like the costume and the colors, and with my size I think it will be a perfect fit. I am going to have to start out one piece at a time, so I want to start with the helmet. I have read many messages on the boards and it appears that the SGB helmet is the way to go. I have been looking to see what is for sale on the for sale boards, but was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is somewhere, or someone, else I can contact about getting an SGB helmet for me to work on. Thanks!

Well i have seen pictures of both. I collect hasbro toys. can I go by those or do I have to look at pictures? Where do I find accurate pics? While Snowtroopers and Galactic Marines look similar, there are no actual costume parts that are the same. The Hasbro toys are FAR from accurate. If you are building this costume for fun, don't worry about accuracy. If you are going for 501st acceptance, then you will need to be HIGHLY detailed and accurate. There are plenty of high res screen shots and other pictures for you to use as reference. Just look around. Have fun and take your time. This costume is no picnic!

Hey Squadleader (6641).
Welcome aboard to the 53rd. Sorry I have not responded sooner, but I've been busy with school latley (I got finals) and started my internship this week.
Glad to hear you are going to start your GM along with your wife and brother.
The GM and the Snowies are very different from each other, and don't share any thing except for the similar appearance (as Toyhunter replied). Best thing as far as knowledge is to go through our Marines' posts and WIPs. I'm sure you will find them very helpful. Also, feel free to ask as many questions possible as were here to help and learn from each other.
Good luck with your GM project and have fun building it.

Hello !
I am a recent member of the French 501st garrison. I've decided to build a GM since few month and I've kept a lot of information on this forum. I've 18 years old and my funds and my parents are not ready for this. So I must wait the next holiday to work and have enough money to start seriously. Before, to convince my parent that I'll not burn money, I'm building a DC-15a, which is in a good way. But I'll talk about this soon
Well, I'm happy to be here, It's maybe give to me more assurance.
PS : Sorry for my english ^^

I specify that when I said "next holyday' I think about the holyday of June. Before that I will try to make all the parts which I can make myself, like Kama, undersuit or maybe Backpack. Well, I have work !

Hi all. My name's Tom and I'm a member of the Southern California Garrison of the 501st with my sandtrooper, Tusken, and soon-to-be Tie Pilot costumes. I've been looking into ways that I could join the clones and so far I like the GM costume the best of the prequel troopers. I also like the fact that the soft parts can accommodate someone my height (I'm 6-3). So, I'm at the research stage and probably will be for some time. I'm really glad this resource is here!

Hey Tom.
Welcome aboard to the might 53rd! You definatley come to the right place, and picked one of if not the best Clonetrooper around. I'm not too far from Glendale so it would be cool to have another GM in the Local area. SCG is look for a GM, I believe...Might be up your alley should you chose to build a GM. The Marines here are a great group of guys and gals and will help you if you have any questions will do the best to help you out. Sorry for the late reply, but I was down at the Long Beach Comic Con and got back late.
