Cheaper is right! I think I spend around $10 in pvc pipe pieces and used old wiper blades for the sides. Even if you need to buy new wiper blades you can get the refills cheap at pep boys, auto zone, etc.......not the entire replacement, just the rubber piece.
The other good thing about doing this one is that you can let the kids check it out without worrying if they drop it.

That is a good point. The kids can see it. I would absolutely feel terrible if I was at a con and fully armored and some SW loving kid asked to hold the gun and I said no because it was my big DC-15A (long) made of wood. I might have to get the hasbro deece just for cons.

I let my 5 year old son wear my stuff around the house and play if he wants under supervison. He's added some battle damage to my Ep2 Clone. The only piece I don't let him use is my Ep2 bucket.

I ahve some costume stuff I am working on right now before I tackle the balster, but I am getting ready. I might have sloved my folding stock problem. I just won another Vintage Kenner 3-possition laser rifle. It has a broken battery connection so it is not worth much. I bought it just for the stock. I am going to try and some how combine the vintage E-11 with the Hasbro DC-15 so that the stock is actually operational. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320203460429&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011

And after many months my Hasbro DC-15 mod is complete. I am very proud of this one. It has a working folding stock, when you "cock" it on the right side it makes a cha-chick cocking noise and the barrel tips lights up, and when you pull the trigger it makes a blaster noise and the barrel tip lights up. Very cool in person! I am currently working on a web site to show off my progress so far. There you will be able to see pictures every step of the way. Should be up tomorrow! I will post a link.

Thank you. I really am proud of it. Not only for the look but for the functionallity of it. I like the look of the long rifle better, but would much rather troop with this.
