I was thinking about building a small lightsaber dagger to mount to my PA DC-15s carbine kit instead of the stock piece (resin piece attached to the two metal bars) and working it into my character's bio/backstory ("Sci"...still working on it)...Something like: after my company's Jedi general and his/her padawan was killed, took the padawan's lightsaber (which happens to be a small handled dagger with a 1' blade instead of the normal 3' blade on a standard lightsaber) and mounted it to my DC-15s carbine to act as a bayonet...
I like the idea, but you never see bayonets/vibroblades/vibrodaggers used as bayonets in SW...I always liked bayonets...

I have a feeling most clones would cut their arms off trying to manipulate a weightless bayonet on the end of a rifle. There's a reason why Han is so cynical of them.

Are you still considering this? It's an older post, but seems like it might be kind of a neat idea.
It always bothered me that the SW universe has such a 'magic bullet' weapon as the lightsaber, but that only Jedi and Sith use it.
Think about such a weapon's properties...light, no need for a belt sheath, no need for a lengthy 'fix bayonets' drill. It would be perfectly safe to keep fixed when turned off, yet be ready instantly with some sort of pressure with like modern tactical lights.
And speaking of tactical lights, it would act as one of those too.
Of course, conventional bayonets don't draw fire the way a lightbayonet might...

I am still considering it, but I just don't know how I could pull it off. I would need a short handle (would I could make) but for the blade itself, it would have to be very short, and I don't know if anyone makes any. I would be more like a light-dagger.

i do believe that you forget, my friend, about the vibroblades on the RC gear... they do work on droids... just aim into the CPU area of the droid, stab, twist around, then pull out, then repeat on the next droid.
