Undersuit Pattern Info « Thread Started on Feb 18, 2009, 5:27am »
Wally aka Sgt. Carida sent me the info that he used for making his undersuit. Here it is for anyone that wants to make their own as well. I ordered mine and some other patterns as well.

I don't see the "bib-overall" look in the screen shots, I'm thinking of going with a "Starter" Short-Sleeve Performance Tee, "Greystone" color http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10714076 for the belly part of this costume. My opinion of the "bib-overall" just looks way too bulky. For the sleeves & neck area I have a black thin-ribbed turtleneck for that.

I went with the bulky look given the fact that the marines we see on Mygeeto were fighting in a cold-climate and most likely had some sort of insulated gear. In fact, I lined my undersuit with fleece to give it a bit more "heft". I used the overalls pattern, but modified it to be sleeveless and colarless. It also has a back closure and has a plain, flat front panel. I added 5x5 cargo pockets on the thighs with a straight-edge flap and velcro closure.
I am probably going to have to adjust the shoulder and side areas a bit so that they are not visible under the chest armor, but I need to get the chest/back pieces trimmed and assembled before heading back to the seamstress.

My costume is currently just a black longsleve underarmour type of shirt, until I complete the V2 of my GM. Afterwards, I'll see what material works best with my costume.

It gets pretty hot here in Southern California & the Star Wars universe is way different than our universe. I do not like the bulky look at all, especially since I don't see that in the screen shots, action figure or mini-bust (just my 2 Republic credits).

Yeah. This will primarily be a cold-weather rig for me here in Indiana...unlike SoCal, it does get a bit chilly here! Just to be clear, I'm referring to the lower body portion of the costume. I will be using either an UA top or a ribbed-turtle neck for the upper body.
