Commander Voltaire,
I wouldn't worry about offense here or even being too serious about your preamble. I think most everyone here (I know I did) knew what you were trying to say. Whether it came off kind of hardcore sounding or not, I knew what you were going for, and that does not represent a commanding presence or pushy-ness on your part, but I believe, a seriousness and commitment to the hobby. You said what you believed and that's what counts. When I look back at some of the things I have said over the years (even though I am but 21) I get embarrassed as well after I think about them for awhile. When you speak what you feel, sometimes that happens. But that also is what makes us human, not a machine or otherwise. I for one would love for you to stay as CO here, and if you know for a fact that you can but only every once and awhile here, I think Anrev and myself (with the help of Torso Boy if needed) can handle things around here. That being said, I totally understand wanting to fulfill your dreams. Sometimes, you can't and won't explain it and it just has to be done. I think everyone that is on this site, the people who are on very frequently are genuine and understanding enough to understand that. It's your choice, I wouldn't try to sway you one way or the other, but you know where I stand on this. If anyone has any problems, please feel free to contact me directly here (pm's) or my personal email Shadoweclipse13@sbcglobal.net. I generally check the site everyday (most days, several times a day). No pressure Volt. You know that you are most definitely welcomed here, but if you really want to focus on other things, that's cool too. One condition though: If you are going to start a comic shop/Sci-fi museum (which I LOVE the Sci-Fi museum idea) you HAVE to send us a few pics of the shop when you open it!

That is a message worthy of a leader. Great to know there is a stand up guy in charge and can take accountability for his actions/words.
I would put out there that we probably need to have another vote to see if we want a new CO? I have two sides to it. From my 11 Years Army NCO side I want someone who will be in charge 24/7/365. I don't want to wait for answers when I need them. The CO is THE guy/gal and needs to be in charge. That is what they are "paid" to do.
From my "normal" side........hey this is only a hobby and suppose to be fun. We all have personal issues/problems/etc. that are real and not part of this hobby. I don't think anyone can be here 24/7/365 but they should be checking in as often as they can. We've got to be real about the whole thing.
So what do I think we need to do? I'm on the fence personally. I like Volt. Is it fair for him to stay as Cmdr. if he can't commit the time to it? I guess you need to think about what is fair to the group Volt. Since you have the ROTC background what do you really think is fair?

on ct.n the DL is tied up for extended periods of time (he works for NASA), but he's still a great guy and very helpful. Just means his command staff does some work too.

After reading his last message i am even more convinced that Volt is the right man for the job: i like someone who's got a real life and put it above any other thing more than someone who spends all the day on the internet... For the small issues that must be solved briefly i believe the XO is the right person and we have a brilliant XO!
Also Volt is very well known in the community and he will represent us in a gorgeous way!

I agree with Snowflake on this one. I think things are good the way they are. And I am definitely willing to help out when-/wherever Volt is not available. Seriously, I am on ALL the time, anybody just PM or email me when needed. I will heed the call.

That's nice to hear. I work for a company that does service for appliances and other stuff in people's home, and sometimes I will just have a bad week because some people are just jerks and you really feel like crap. That is nice to hear sometimes. Anywho...

If there's only like 8 posters on here, well, it goes without saying there needs to be more people aware of us. CT.net is well known for the clones in general, where as the 53rd's site may not be. Of course, the other thing that might be going on is alot of people just searching the threads looking for whatever, like I sometimes do, and not really feeling a need to post anything new. Perhaps we could encourage people to post pics of themselves from events and charities. Also, I know quite a few people who can produce the parts and pieces we need, problem is, they usually just post over at CT.net. All in all, we really need to promote the Galactic Marine heavily. Wether it be the red marine or cold marine, it doesn't matter. I've been trying, but since there's no costume ready to purchase as a whole, most new people don't want to bother trying to find the parts and pieces needed. Okay, so I'm rambling here so i'll shut up now and get off here. Thanks for reading.
