Backpack Backpack and pouches from Steelblitz with modifications Weathered to death. I considered the backpack to be the one piece of kit that a GM would treat poorly. First thing to be thown to the ground during a rest break or after an invasion. I plan on adding some damage to the pack sometime after FanExpo. I lost the original sidepods that Frank set so I made some new ones out of foam board and .020 styrene. I did not use the provided T bars. I added the sidepanels using .020 styrene and the side panel rails using .040 styrene using the Banzai pack and his ref photos as a guide of it should look like. Secured to my back using three 1" rare earth magnets in cups. The contact is set in a well in the resin detail pate so that there is not risk of shear and the pack falling. Also, this configuration assures the pack is situated properly as it "locks" in place. It is difficult to separate the pack from my back but can be done by prying it from the bottom. I reinforced the inner "cross member" to provide strength so it wouldn't break as I pulled the pack away. FYI, The uppermost magnet on my back holds the mantle in place.

Do you ever have a problem with the magnets, like a part falling off or something? I would like to try this method but I would be afraid of something falling off, like your back pack.

There is no way that backpack would fall off. I have hit it hard a few times while moving around (you really have to get used to it being there) and I have put divots in drywall but it hasn't come off. If you put both magnets on a flat plane then maybe they would shear or slide off from each other so I dealt with that issue by making them sit inside a nest (recessed cup) in the resin backpiece.

That is a really good idea. I might have to look into this method. My other option was using the clip method that the Fetts use to hold on their jet packs.
